Pontillas said Caiña is a sheriff of the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC)-Northern Mindanao Region while Delcosora is a security guard of Informatics Computer Institute located along Tiano-Hayes Streets.
Confiscated from Delcosora was a sachet of suspected shabu (methamphetamine) and P1,000 bill marked money.
Caiña and Delcosora were arrested after the latter sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an informant who acted as poseur-buyer while at the guardhouse of the school.
Caiña denied he is dealing illegal drugs but admitted being a drug user.
However, police said that before their arrest, Delcosora was seen accepting “something” from Caiña.
“Even if Caiña denied this, but he was pinpointed by the guard as the one who owned the illegal drugs,” Pontillas said.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, has been filed against the two suspects who are now temporarily detained at the Maharlika detention cell while waiting for their transfer to the Lumbia City Jail.
Meanwhile, another suspected dealer of illegal drugs was arrested by joint elements of the Regional Intelligence Division and Regional Special Operations Group in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 35 on Wednesday evening.
Arrested was 45-year-old Nicleto N. Daguplo, a resident of Barangay 35.
Police Superintendent Reynante R. Reyes, RID chief, said Daguplo was arrested after selling a sachet of suspected shabu (methamphetamine) to an informant who acted as poseur-buyer.
Confiscated from him was a sachet containing suspected shabu worth P2,000.
Reyes said operatives from the RID and RSOG conducted an anti-illegal drug operation in the area after receiving information that trading of illegal drugs is rampant in the said barangay.
Daguplo is now detained as charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 is ready for filing against him.
