A BUSINESSWOMAN was killed while her househelp is in critical condition after unidentified robbers broke into the former’s store in Zone 1 Barangay Lumbia in Cagayan de Oro on Wednesday morning.
Dolcefina Mingo, 75, was declared dead on arrival at the J.R. Borja Memorial City Hospital in Barangay Carmen while her working student, Rhian (not her real name), 16, was first brought to the City Hospital but was transferred to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) for further treatment.

Rhian, according to police operatives, was allegedly raped by the suspects. She is still in critical condition at NMMC.
Initial investigation conducted by the Lumbia Police Station showed that four unidentified suspects forcibly opened the door of Mingo’s store early Wednesday morning.
Police said Mingo noticed the commotion and tried to stop the suspects but was instead hit with a bottle and stabbed by the suspects. Rhian tried to help Mingo but was also stabbed in the head with a broken glass.
Police said Rhian might have been raped by the suspects after neighbors saw her get out of the store bloodied and with no clothes as she asked for help at around 6:00 a.m.
Operatives of Lumbia Police Station are still conducting investigation on the case as they also try to establish how much the suspects carted away from Mingo’s store. Stephanie V. Berganio)
