THREE teenagers were injured after they were hit by a vehicle allegedly driven by suspected car smuggler Lynard Allan Bigcas Friday dawn along Velez-Fernandez Sts. near Rodelsa Circle in Cagayan de Oro.
Two of the teenagers were identified as Gulver and Maya, while police are still trying to get the identity of the other victim. They were being treated at the Cagayan de Oro Polymedic General Hospital.
Senior Police Officer 3 Nestor Borjal, investigator at the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA), said according to witnesses, Bigcas was doing stunt driving on board his yellow Honda vehicle around 1 a.m. when he hit the three teenagers who were just standing along the side of the road.
Borjal said Bigcas’ vehicle also hit a motorcycle parked at the road side.
He said Bigcas reportedly sped off after the incident.
“The victims clearly identified Bigcas as the driver of the Honda vehicle because they saw him earlier doing stunt driving. Even the security guard assigned in the area witnessed the incident,” Borjal said.
He said the teenagers are set to file a case against Bigcas.
Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro tried to contact Bigcas but to no avail.
Bigcas is facing smuggling raps after authorities seized last year luxury cars and motorbikes inside his warehouse in Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro, some of which were reported stolen in America.
Bigcas was also arrested last August 25, 2011, for illegal possession of firearms. He was also involved in a shooting incident in Davao City.
