Police to build stations in Misamis Oriental-A A +A
Wednesday, March 21, 2012
THE Philippine National Police (PNP) in Northern Mindanao is inviting all interested and qualified bidders for the construction of standard police stations in Misamis Oriental and the PNP Grandstand inside Camp Alagar in Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City.
Police Regional Director Jufel C. Adriatico said qualified bidders are encouraged to apply for eligibility and to bid for the contracts in the construction of Gingoog City and Libertad police stations.
Adriatico said the construction of police stations is part of the continuing program of the PNP to boost the quality of police services and their relationships with the community.
“Over the past two to three years, some police stations constructed in the region under the PNP standard requirements were completed and formally turned over to local government units,” he said.
Adriatico said he observed that in Northern Mindanao, many police stations are still attached to the offices and departments of the local government units.
These stations, he said, are most often prone to terrorist attacks and harassments.
Because of this, he urged the chiefs of police of the remaining municipalities and component cities to coordinate with their respective local chief executives and local officials to look for possible lots for the construction of police stations.
