6 police officers honored-A A +A

SIX police officers were awarded recently for their valuable contribution to the overall efficiency of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Northern Mindanao office.
PNP Regional Director Jufel Adriatico and Police Director Rey Lañada of the PNP Directorate for Human Resources and Doctrine Development presented the awards during the regular Monday flag raising ceremony at the PNP regional office in Camp Alagar.
PNP Efficiency Medals (Medalya ng Kasanayan) were given to PO3 Rey Ciudadano and PO1 Louis Alfred Torcino for the arrest of Melvin Openiano Mejorada last May 23, 2012 in Barangay 19 in Gingoog City.
Openiano was listed as the number 1 most wanted person in the city allegedly for rape.
Meanwhile, PNP Merit Medals (Medalya ng Kagalingan) were also given to Police Senior Inspector Ereneo Ramirez, Police Inspector Maricris Mulat, SPO3 Tawide Galleon and PO2 Bernardo Lagoy Jr. for the neutralization of robbery suspect Jeffrey Paminsalan Hinulos last May 16, 2012 in Barangay Sta. Cruz in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.
Hinulos was killed in a shootout with responding police officers after he robbed a salesman of Asia Brewery. He was with another unidentified suspect who escaped after the incident. Police recovered one caliber .45 pistol and stolen items.
Adriatico earlier directed all police provincial and city directors to organize teams consisting of Motorized Anti-Street Crime Operatives as effective tools in fighting robbery suspects who use motorcycles as their get-away vehicles. (PR)
