PAIR in 2nd Stage of ISO Certification
-A A +ATuesday, June 19, 2012
THE Philippine Association of Institutions for Research (Pair) underwent the Stage 2 Certification Audit Monday, more than a month after it complied with recommendations of the Stage 1 visit conducted last May 14 by the Anglo Japanese American Registrars represented by Kevin Castillon.
Once cleared, Pair could be recommended for certification to ISO 9001:2008.
If Pair would hurdle this, it will become the first private research association in the country that is ISO certified.
The inspiration of Pair came from the ISO experience of the National Research Council of the Philippines headed by its president, Dr. Alvin B. Culaba, in 2011.
Strengthened Quality Management System marked by well written policies and procedures that are followed in the actual operations of the business and higher customer satisfaction are among the visible effects of ISO Certification.
The Anglo Japanese American Registrars (AJA) has forged a memorandum of agreement with the Commission on Higher Education as a deputized certifying body for ISO of colleges and universities, particularly those with Maritime Courses.
Dr. Alvaro L. Salingay, an alumnus of the Doctor in Management Program of Liceo de Cagayan University, is currently the ISO process consultant of Pair.
Irish P. Balios is the quality management representative, while Lawrence S. Babanto is the document controller, and Dr. Genaro V. Japos as the president. (PR)
