A P475,000 worth of properties were destroyed when a fire razed a house owned by the village chief of Barangay Consolacion in Cagayan de Oro Wednesday afternoon.
No injuries were reported in the afternoon incident.
Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Fire investigator 2 Dennis Dalis of the Cagayan de Oro Central Fire Station said that around 3 p.m., they received a call informing them that the house of Consolacion village chief Cesar Pagapulaan was on fire.
Dalis said fire trucks were immediately dispatched to the area.
The fire started at the second floor of Pagapulaan’s two-storey house and spread to adjacent house owned by his son-in-law, Police Officer 2 Fred Yasay Jr.
Fire investigators still have to investigate the real cause of the fire considering that it started at the second floor of the house.
He said they are looking into the electrical aspect as the possible cause of the fire.
