THE City Government is now working on forging a partnership with the private sector for the celebration of the Kagay-an Festival 2012.
Councilor Alden Bacal, chair of the subcommittee on ways and means for private sector participation, met last Friday with some private companies to present this proposal.
According to Bacal, the city will enter into a memorandum of agreement with them after the proposals have been agreed upon.
During the meeting, Bacal and Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya presented to representatives of Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, Coca-Cola, Sun Cellular and Asia Brewery Inc., the seven core events of this year’s Kagay-an Festival and invited them to support the activities.
“The City Government is leading the way towards this partnership,” Nacaya said.
The committee also held similar meetings with other private firms in the past weeks.
The members of the sub-committee on private sector participation include Councilor Nadya Emano-Elipe, City Accountant Wilma Polley Rugay, City Budget Officer Griscelda Joson and Juliet Glenda Valmorida of the City Treasurer’s Office.
The sub-committee was created by the Kagay-an Festival 2012 committee on finance and ways and means chaired by Councilor Simeon Licayan to facilitate this partnership. (PR)
