ANOTHER establishment in Cagayan de Oro was victimized by two armed men riding in tandem on a motorcycle on Monday afternoon, barely a week after an LBC branch was robbed.

Police Superintendent Danildo Tumanda, station commander of Police Station 1 in Divisoria, said the two suspects robbed a loading station located along Yacapin-Velez Streets and took away almost half a million pesos worth of cash and card loads.

Tumanda said the suspects, one of whom was armed with a hand grenade while the other was armed with a .38 caliber gun, entered Happy Warehouse Inc. at De Leon Plaza Building and declared holdup.

The employees told police that one of the suspects held the tellers at gunpoint and directly took the box where the day’s earnings was placed, amounting to P236,112.

The suspect also took several card loads worth P248,000.

Police said the suspect, who had the hand grenade, stood near the door and warned the tellers: “Stay calm because you have nothing to do with this. Do not call or text anyone and don’t move.”

The two suspects later fled onboard a red XRM motorcycle with no plate number.

Based on the close-circuit television (CCTV) camera of the building, the two armed men arrived in the area at around 12:38 noon.

“They pretended to be just looking at the area. Then they entered the establishment at 12:49 and fled just after two minutes. It only goes to show that the act was well executed,” Tumanda told Sun.Star.

He, however, said they have already identified the two suspects and that charges against them will be filed anytime today.

“But we still cannot divulge their names because police operation is still ongoing,” he said.

According to Tumanda, the two armed men are members of a syndicate group but declined to give further details.

Police have now reportedly launched an offensive to apprehend the suspects.

Last Thursday noon, three armed men robbed a branch of LBC in Barangay Gusa and took away more than P10,000 cash.

Police are still investigating the said incident.
