Fire razes house in Cagayan de Oro

A FIRE razed a two-storey house in Barangay Carmen in Cagayan de Oro Thursday afternoon, destroying P80,000 worth of properties.
No one was reported injured during the incident.
Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Fire Investigator 2 Dennis Dalis of the Cagayan de Oro Central Fire Station said the fire started at the second floor of the house owned by Rosario Mercado, located along Vamenta Boulevard.
Dalis said the fire started in one of the rooms occupied by a boarder.
The second floor of Mercado’s house had seven rooms, six of which were occupied by boarders.
Mercado, on the other hand, is occupying the ground floor along with two other boarders.
The BFP still has to investigate the real cause of the fire considering that it started in the room whose occupant was not around when the fire broke out.
The fire only razed down Mercado’s house since it is isolated and far from other neighbors.
Dalis said they received the fire call around 2:00 p.m. and immediately dispatched fire trucks into the area.
Among those who responded were fire volunteer brigades of private establishments and fire trucks from various BFP sub-stations.
