SOME P295,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, were seized by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Northern Mindanao Region, following a buy-bust operation on Thursday in Barangay Nazareth, Cagayan de Oro City.
However, the target suspect identified only as a certain “Saidy” along with his companion identified as Carlito Arias were able to elude arrest by jumping over the window when PDEA operatives swooped down the area along 31st St. in Barangay Nazareth.
A PDEA agent told Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro that Saidy is armed with a .38 caliber revolver during his escape.
PDEA agents were able to recover four sachets of shabu and illegal drug paraphernalia containing shabu residue.
Anti-narcotics agents also seized a hand grenade and 14 live ammunitions of caliber .38 from the house rented by “Saidy.”
Cases for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and illegal possession of explosive and ammunitions are set to be filed against the suspects.
