OPERATIVES of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office Special Operations Group (CSOG) arrested on Saturday afternoon a wanted person for carnapping at Purok 4, Barangay Puerto.
Police Senior Inspector Harvey S. Abellanosa, CSOG chief, said Randy Hernani, 26, a resident of Purok 4, Barangay Puerto, was arrested around 3 p.m. with the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Emmanuel P. Pasal, presiding judge of branch 38, with bail recommended amounting to P180,000.
Court record showed that Hernani and his companions identified as Eugene Suarez and Bryan Entering, who are still at large, allegedly conspired and forcibly took the motorcycle owned by a certain Reraclec Cañete.
The incident happened sometime in December 23, 2011 and the suspect went on hiding for almost a year until he was arrested on Saturday in his residence.
Hernani, Abellanosa said, is now temporarily detained at the Maharlika detention cell, pending his transfer to Lumbia Rehabilitation Jail, if he could not post bail for his temporary liberty.
The successful arrest of Hernani was made with the help of the Barangay Intelligence Network. (Annabelle L. Ricalde)
