Fire razes 4 houses in Oro

FOUR houses were razed while two others were damaged in a fire that hit Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City, Thursday morning.
The fire started at the house of a certain “Ely” at Ampana Hillside Macanhan, Barangay Carmen.
The blaze quickly spread to the houses of Sonny Buton, Rey Galos, and Fatima Oco and partly burnt the houses of Rico Sacote and Rose Manilhig.
Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Cagayan de Oro Central Fire Station investigator Fire Officer 2 Dennis Dales said the fire broke out around 8:45 a.m.
Fire trucks were then immediately dispatched at the fire scene. Some residents in the area were helping each other to put out the fire when firefighters arrived.
According to Dales, one of their firefighters identified as Edebel Ratunil, who was detailed in Balulang Fire Station, sustained a minor cut in his hands during the incident.
The fire of a still unknown origin was contained in 15 minutes.
Damage to properties has been placed at P120,000. (ALR)
