MORE than 80 dogs and their owners joined Sunday’s dog show at Limketkai Center in Cagayan de Oro as part of the many activities lined up for the Kagay-an festival on August 28, in honor of St. Augustine.
Mahrue Landero, vice president of CDO Dog Walkers’ Club, said the activity aimed to show everyone that through dogs, unity can be achieved.
The group, founded in February this year, started only in a simple dog walk from the Rotunda to Divisoria Plaza every Sunday.
“We realized, it is a way also of socializing with people aside from the health benefits it will give after an early morning or an afternoon walk,” Landero said.
The activity also aimed to show dog handlers and the general public the responsibility of handling dogs.
Among the officers of the club are Morian Paula Atienza, Landero and Emy Fe Barquez.
