MISAMIS Oriental Governor Oscar Moreno tagged Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Vicente Emano as the one behind the group of “concerned citizens and registered voters” who opposed his transfer of residency to the city from Balingasag, Misamis Oriental.
Moreno said the opposition was obviously written by a lawyer, adding that based on reliable information, the lawyer is also Emano’s counsel.
But the governor emphasized he already expected this move to happen.
“Of course, it is obvious that this is Dongkoy’s maneuvering and orchestration and I understand what Dongkoy is up to because he is worried now that he already sees his end,” Moreno said in an interview over dxIF Bombo Radyo.
But Emano strongly denied Moreno’s allegation, claiming he did not know anyone from the group who filed their complaints before the city Commission on Election (Comelec).
Emano said if he is the one behind the group, what he would do is to question the court and the Comelec if it is still right that Moreno would remain as governor knowing that he already transferred his residency in the city.
“I was surprised that the complaints were only filed now. If I were them, I will question why Oscar Moreno still remains as governor when he already left Misamis Oriental,” Emano said in an interview with dxIF.
Meanwhile, Edgardo Roa, one of those who opposed Moreno’s transfer, clarified that there is nothing wrong with their move, citing it as their right to information.
Roa said he felt sad that “everything has been tainted with politics.” (Annabelle L. Ricalde)
