Kidnapped nephew involved in uncle’s pyramid scam: police

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) said Tuesday that kidnapped victim Ouzhar Paw Rasuman is allegedly involved in a pyramiding scheme.
PNP Regional Director Chief Superintendent Gil J. Hitosis said this was one of the reasons why Rasuman was kidnapped.
“Isa ‘yun sa dahilan na kinidnap siya, upang mabawi ng investors ang kanilang pera na according to the sister of Rasuman, ay relative lang nila ang kumidnap,” Hitosis told Sun.Star.
He, however, said police have yet to determine whether Rasuman’s involvement in the pyramid scheme is connected with the activity of his uncle, Coco Rasuman.
The family of Rasuman has informed police of his release barely two weeks ago but Hitosis said they refused to give details of the release.
“Siguro dahil relative lang daw nila ang nag-abduct kaya ayaw nang magsalita but the police needs to investigate the case para malaman kung sino ang dapat kasuhan,” he said.
Earlier, Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Vicente Emano issued a statement that it was a “kidnap me” incident, claiming that he did not know where the victim was brought by his abductors.
However, Hitosis clarified that it was indeed a kidnapping incident because of the pyramiding scheme that the victim is allegedly involved in.
But even if the family is uncooperative, Hitosis said they will continue to conduct their own investigation on the incident.
