A 69-YEAR-OLD grandmother suspected to be selling illegal drugs was arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in a buy-bust operation Tuesday in Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental.
Erlinda I. Revil, alias Nanay, a resident of Poblacion 1, Oroquieta City, was nabbed after selling a sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” to an undercover PDEA agent.
PDEA Regional Director Roberto Opeña said that purchased from “Nanay” was a big size heat-sealed transparent plastic cellophane with 10 pieces small transparent sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
Also recovered from the suspect’s possession were four pieces big size heat-sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.
However, Opeña said the exact weight and amount of seized illegal drug from the suspect had yet to be determined.
PDEA considered “Nanay” as a watch-listed drug personality in Oroquieta City.
“Nanay” is now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
