Study center in Xavier Ecoville breaks ground

THE Junior Chamber International (JCI) Macajalar 24K (M24K), in partnership with Xavier University (XU), commits to build a children’s study center at Xavier Ecoville, the XU-led resettlement site for survivors of tropical storm Sendong in Brgy. Lumbia.
This is the second M24K Children’s Study Center in the city. The first one is in Sitio Macanhan, which was built last year.
JCI used to hold tutorial sessions through its mobile school projects.
But over the years, its members decided to leave a solid legacy -- a concrete study center where children in a community can come together to study.
The M24K Children’s Study Center in Xavier Ecoville is designed to be a peaceful venue for fun learning.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held at the Xavier Ecoville permanent site last September 22.
The JCI M24K members, with their president Maybelle Jane Regis, were in full force in support of their new project.
Mr. Roel Ravanera, chairperson of the Xavier University Lumbia Resettlement Project, and Lumbia village chief Wilhem Valencia were also present at the event.
JCI is excited to help the children nurture their study habits so they can one day finish their education.
Xavier Ecoville supports this goal, being aligned with its mission of building a community that is dedicated to achieve sustainable development. (Xyla Mercedita E. Gualberto)
