Suspected robber nabbed

A WANTED robbery suspect was arrested by operatives of the Tagoloan Municipal Police Station in a raid at Sitio Ganghaan in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Tagoloan town, Misamis Oriental Monday evening.
Police Officer 2 Bernard Lagoy of Tagoloan Police Station said the suspect, Joseph R. Esquillo, a resident of Sta. Cruz, was arrested around 7:30 p.m.
Lagoy said that the operatives, led by their station commander Police Inspector Maricris Mulat, were armed with two warrants issued by Judge Marites Felomina Rana-Bernales of the Regional Trial Court Branch 39 for two counts of robbery with violence against or intimidation of person with a recommended bail of P100,000 each.
Authorities recovered one improvised shotgun (sumpak) with one live ammunition of shotgun from the suspect’s possession.
Police records showed that Esquillo has been tagged as the suspect in the series of robbery not only in Tagoloan but also in Cagayan de Oro City.
“Kining iyang duha ka warrant lain-lain ang complainants ani taga Barangay Bugo ug Barangay Agusan,” Lagoy told Sun.Star.
It was learned that Esquillo’s co-accused in the robbery cases have already been arrested.
Lagoy said Esquillo was previously arrested by Tagoloan police for illegal possession of firearms and had already served his sentence.
The suspect is now temporarily detained at the mini-cell of Tagoloan Police Station pending his transfer either to the Lumbia City Jail or at Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail.
