A MOTHER and her daughter who were wanted for attempted murder were arrested by joint forces of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Special Operations Group and Anti-Theft and Robbery Section on Wednesday afternoon in Barangay Dansolihon, Cagayan de Oro City.
Rebecca A. Gavia, 44, and daughter Remalyn A. Gutierez, 26, both residents in Sitio Mangalay, Barangay Dansolihon, were arrested around 1:30 p.m. by virtue of a warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Emmanuel P. Pasal, presiding judge of Branch 38.
Police Senior Inspector Harvey S. Abellanosa told Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro that the court recommended a bail of P120,000 each for the suspects.
Court records showed that last April 30, 2012, the suspects allegedly attacked Vivian T. Aranas, village councilman of Barangay Dansolihon with the use of a sharp object that almost caused the life of the victim after sustaining several wounds in her body.
The two suspects are now temporarily detained at the Maharlika detention cell pending their transfer to Lumbia Rehabilitation Center anytime this week.
