POLICE operatives are now reportedly monitoring a group believed to be responsible for the heist inside LBC-Divisoria branch last Friday during the visit of Vice President Jejomar Binay in Cagayan de Oro.
Police Senior Inspector Henry D. Cay-as, station commander of Divisoria Police Station 1, believed the suspects are from Cagayan de Oro, based on the information they received.
However, Cay-as declined to give further details of the information so as not to hamper the ongoing investigation.
“If ever mag-positive, then we will apply for a search warrant,” he told Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro.
On Friday, two robbers barged inside a branch of LBC located along Pabayo-Chavez Sts. and declared a holdup.
Police initial investigation showed that the two suspects, one of whom was armed with a still undetermined caliber, pretended to be customers and later declared holdup.
Based on LBC’s closed circuit television camera, one of the two suspects wore a bonnet while the other wore a green bull cap.
The management of LBC said they lost P10,000 cash.
Police earlier said the suspects found time to do the daring act as operatives were busy securing Binay and his party, who was in Cagayan de Oro City last Friday to endorse the candidacy of Mayor Vicente Emano and his group as official candidates in Cagayan de Oro under the United Nationalist Alliance.
