AN EX-CONVICT was shot to death by two gunmen riding in a motorcycle Thursday evening along 31st Street in Barangay Nazareth, Cagayan de Oro City.
Jonefer Abogada, 30, succumbed to seven gunshot wounds in the head and other parts of his body from a .45 caliber pistol.
Initial investigation showed that the victim was walking when he met the two gunmen, who, without a word, shot Abogada to death.
The suspects later fled to an unknown direction.
Operatives of Macasandig Police Station failed to arrest the suspects.
Reports said Abogada was just released from the Davao Penal Colony after serving his sentence.
But police said it has yet to check the victim’s records, though investigators are eyeing his alleged “huge debt” as motive of the killing.
On Thursday dawn, Joel Cadeliña of Zone 3, Bugo was also shot to death.
The suspect identified as Joel Pantuan surrendered to operatives of Puerto Police Station six hours after the incident.
Pantuan admitted killing the victim, but said he only did it out of revenge after the victim hacked him earlier.
