Voters asked to register before Oct. 31 deadline

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) is reminding qualified voters who have not yet registered to visit the Comelec office and sign up as the deadline has already been set on October 31.
Lawyer Aleli Dayao-Ramirez, city election officer, said most people tend to have that habit of beating the deadline.
“Unya kung malangan, ang taga Comelec dayon ang basulon when in fact, taas kaayo ang panahon nga gihatag. Asa man sila sa mga adlaw nga walay nagpa-rehistro?” Ramirez said.
She said there will be no more extension for voters’ registration.
Ramirez said Comelec will be open during the remaining Saturdays of October to accommodate those who cannot have their voter’s registration validated during weekdays.
Based on the Comelec website, “Old registered voters who have not yet had their biometrics information digitally captured may file for an application for validation, which would enable their photographs, fingerprints and signatures taken using the Voter Registration Machine (VRM). This biometrics information is needed for the printing and issuance of the Voter’s ID card.”
