A MAN died while two others were injured when about 30 fiberglass panels they were unloading fell off from the delivery truck near the entrance of a mall that is undergoing construction along Corrales-C.M. Recto Avenue Saturday morning.
The fatality was identified as Ramil Mugot, 23, a resident of Bantiles, Barangay Bugo. The 6x7-long fiberglass panels directly hit his head, which caused his instantaneous death.
Those injured were identified as Felipe Tumaguin, 23, and Rey John Macabale, 23, both residents of Barangay Macabalan.
The three victims worked as delivery personnel for SAGS Glass Supply.

Tumaguin and Macabale were rushed to the Cagayan de Oro Medical Center for treatment.
Tumaguin sustained minor injuries while Macabale is reportedly in serious condition.
Initial investigation showed that while the victims were unloading the fiberglass panels, the driver of the delivery truck identified as Kim Napone accidentally started the engine, which caused the victims to lost grip of the panels.
Right after the incident, the mall’s personnel cordoned the area and barred the media and even police personnel from going inside.
Senior Police Officer 3 Nestor Borjal of Cogon Police Precinct said they detained Napone after they found out that he has no driver’s license.
Napone also failed to produce a copy of the delivery truck’s registration papers.
Justine Tiro, marketing supervisor of the mall, said they already contacted the owner of SAGS Glass Supply.
Tiro said the owner assured them they “will handle the needs of the victims.”
He also assured that the mall’s management will coordinate with local authorities for the speedy investigation of the case.
