Poll body reshuffles regional directors

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has implemented a temporary reshuffling of its regional directors (RDs) and assistant regional directors (ARDs) effective January 10, 2013.
The reshuffle, based on Comelec Resolution 9593, is reportedly aimed at ensuring integrity and absolute impartiality in the May 2013 local and national elections.
In Northern Mindanao, regional director Renato Magbutay will be assigned to Western Visayas Region until the end of the election period on June 12.
Magbutay, who has been serving Northern Mindanao since the late 1990s, will be replaced by lawyer Noli Pipo, the regional director of Ilocos.
“Alongside the Comelec’s desire to promote professional competency and integrity in the service, the Commission en banc finds the temporary reshuffling to be for the best interest of the Commission,” the resolution said.
