THE Cagayan de Oro Press Club (COPC) will hold its general assembly and annual election of officers today, February 9, at Philtown Hotel.
Incumbent COPC President Msgr. Elmer Abacahin will be seeking reelection as he vowed to continue and fulfill all his projects, especially the media village for COPC members who were victims of Tropical Storm Sendong and those who still don’t have their own houses.
Former COPC president Santiago Goking will also be running in this year’s election though he said he would be supporting the candidacy of Msgr. Abacahin, citing the latter’s big contribution to the club.
Goking said he is hoping for a smooth and peaceful election today as he wants all group to be united and leave behind some “grudges.”
Goking is referring to the “internal battle” between some board members which he believed had caused controversy in the club. (Nicole J. Managbanag)
