THE Cagayan de Oro City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) has lowered the green alert level it raised earlier as Tropical Depression “Crising” moves to Zamboanga City on Tuesday.
Armen Cuenca of CDRRMC said the green alert level was already lowered as no more threat of flooding is observed.
Over at Misamis Oriental, Vice Governor Norris Babiera said he already directed Teddy Sabugaa, executive director of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), to warn all residents in the province, particularly those in flood and landslide prone areas and those living in coastal barangays.
“Although Misamis Oriental was not included in storm signal number 1, still we issued warnings especially since anaa pa ang pag-ulan,” Babiera told Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro.
Cagayan de Oro Assistant School Superintendent Reynaldo Manuel Jr. said despite persistent rains on Tuesday morning, the Department of Education (DepEd) has not issued suspension of classes.
“We have not received any memorandum,” Manuel said.
In Misamis Occidental, classes in pre-school, kindergarten, elementary and high school levels in Oroquieta City, Jimenez, Aloran, Lopez-Jaena and Tudela were suspended. (Annabelle L. Ricalde/Abigail Cheee Kee Malalis)
