POLICE authorities are still facing a blank wall as to the killing of a retired army sergeant who was shot Sunday evening by motor-riding suspects in a subdivision in Barangay Bugo, Cagayan de Oro.
Virgilio V. Dy, 49, a resident of Lot 14, Block 8 Villa Trinitas Subdivision in Barangay Bugo, succumbed to two gunshot wounds in his head from a caliber .45 pistol.
Jazzy N. Ellevera, 48, owner of a nearby sari-sari store in the area, was wounded in the incident. She sustained gunshot wounds in her left shoulder and abdomen.
Police said the suspects fled on board a black XRM motorcycle without plate.
Authorities recovered three empty shells and a slug of caliber .45 at the crime scene.
Police Initial investigation showed that Dy was shot near Ellevera’s store after buying something around 7:10 p.m.
The victim’s neighbors discounted personal grudge as the motive of the killing since they knew him as a good man and a silent type of person.
Senior Police Officer 1 Albert Hermoso of Puerto Police Station 6 said their investigation is still ongoing.
