SPIRITS are high among Team PNoy as the latest survey of the Social Weather Station (SWS) revealed that senatoriable Benigno “Bam” Aquino gained points, as he is now in the number 9 rank for the senatorial slots.

With this, Aquino on Tuesday expressed his gratefulness for the improvement and thanked his volunteers for their hard work.

“Nang narinig ko ang balita, tumahimik lang ako, nagdasal, at nag-thank you sa mga volunteers. It shows our strategy works. We will continue to push for reforms,” he told Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro.

Aquino was in Alubijid, Misamis Oriental last February 25 for a campaign sortie.

This is the first time that President Aquino’s cousin made it to the Magic 12. He climbed 9 survey points from 34 percent in the January survey when he ranked 13th.

Aquino acknowledged that sharing President Aquino’s last name helped but he attributed the rise to his volunteers.

“Masaya talaga ako at nagulat na nasa number 9 slots ako sa survey. Nakakataba ng puso,” he added.

Aquino said voters are probably tired of the mudslinging and are now looking at the accomplishments and message of bets.

He said he feels there has been shift among voters who now focus on the track record of candidates rather than just their last names or their looks.

Misamis Oriental Vice Governor Norris Babiera, standard bearer of the Liberal Party for governor in Misamis Oriental, said they expected the results of the SWS survey.

He emphasized that Team PNoy “will be the beneficiary of the fruits of reforms boldly initiated by Pinoy.”

On the same day, Aquino met with Cagayan de Oro Representative Rufus Rodriguez (2nd district), Abante Mindanao Representative Maximo Rodriguez Jr. and some local candidates of the Liberal Party in Cagayan de Oro at the gymnasium of Barangay Nazareth.

Aquino is also being supported by the Centrist Democratic Party of Rufus, along with his two other teammates, re-electionist senators Francis Escudero and Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel who are also in the top 10 slots. (Annabelle L. Ricalde)
