THE province of Misamis Oriental and Gingoog City are this year’s winners in the search for Outstanding Local Project Monitoring Committees (LPMCs) of the Regional Development Council (RDC).
Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte and Ozamiz City are the first runner-ups.
The LPMCs were evaluated on six areas that include organization, capability building, relevant and timely reporting on the status of program/project implementation, information dissemination, participation of civil society organizations in the monitoring process, and institutional arrangement for the operation of the Regional Project Monitoring and Evaluation System (RPMES).
The winners were awarded with plaques of recognition during the RDC’s 96th full council meeting on March 12 at the RDC main conference room in Cagayan de Oro City.
Leon Dacanay Jr., RDC vice chair and regional director of the National Economic and Development Authority, said the search aims to motivate the local chief executives and local development councils to facilitate project implementation and advocate the systematic use of the project monitoring and evaluation system for an informed decision-making towards better local governance.
