City High won PE rhythmic dance and parade contests-A A +A

CAGAYAN de Oro National High School (CNHS) champed in two competitions in one of the city fiesta’s core activities held at the Pelaez Sports Center on Monday.
While Bulua Elementary School remained the champion for two consecutive years in the elementary category for the PE rhythmic dance.
CNHS has been put in the spotlight after winning the PE rhythmic dance and parade competition. CNHS took home a total of P55,000 for winning both awards.
The CNHS winners clad in their Higalaay costumes showed discipline and proper coordination as they performed in the two competitions.
CNHS also bagged best in choreography and darling of the crowd for garnering the loudest cheer.
Dr. Gina Labitad, CNHS principal, said all their efforts have really paid off.
Labitad said they aimed at winning the title not only for the cash prizes at stake, but to prove that they are the best among the other schools in the city.
“Indeed, we have proven that we are the best. Since the PE rhythmic dance began in 2008, we were the pioneering champ.”
Labitad said after this year’s competition, they will plan ahead for next year's another round of competition to defend their title.
Bulua National High School won the 2nd place in the PE rhythmic dance and third in the parade and brought home P33,000 cash prize.
Lumbia National High School got the 3rd place and won P25,000 while Carmen National High School won the 4th place and took home P20,000 cash prize. Carmen also won the 3rd place in the parade competition.
Meanwhile, Bulua Central School (BCS) showed a synchronized dance number which earned them the title against Kauswagan Central School which bagged the 2nd place and City Central placed 3rd.
BCS also received the originality and creativity award. They took home P50,000 cash plus gift packs.
Dr. Marife Ramos, BCS Principal said the unity among students and their teachers has been the key to their success.
Ramos said other key factor to their victory is planning.
“After the competition last year, we already came up with different strategies for our next presentation which we just showed today (Monday).”
Ramos said because of their victory last year, they were able to complete the construction of the fences of the school.
