LINAMON, Lanao del Norte –- Because he shooed away a dog by shooting it using marbles, the angry dog owners shot him fatally.
Jason Kirk Briones, 28, a casual employee of Linamon municipal hall was shot dead inside the municipal dump site at Sitio Manadi in the hinterland barangay of Purakan in Linamon town on Tuesday around 4:30 in the afternoon.
Linamon acting police chief Domingo Murillo said Briones had been shot twice on his chest. He was an eco-aid worker of the municipal dump site for 10 years.
Murillo said that while Briones was doing his trash work a dog appeared. Since he had been shooing dogs away by shooting them with his improvised gun using marbles and butane gas as its triggering mechanism, he shot the dog. The dog was unharmed.
However, it angered the dog owners who retaliated and shot him twice hitting his chest.
The police could not still determine the kind of firearms used by one of the three suspects.
Murillo led the team who is hunting down the suspects identified as Marcelino "Bebie" Galvez (father), Bebot and Marlon Galvez (sons).
