Theft cases in NMMC down due to CCTV-A A +A
Wednesday, October 23, 2013
CASES of theft at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) have been reduced with the installation of closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras within the hospital premises.
Jun Yecyec, a security guard and in-charge of the monitoring of the CCTV at the NMMC, said since the CCTV were installed, they were able to monitor all movements inside the hospital, especially employees and patients and their watchers.
Through the help of the CCTV, Yecyec said the NMMC security has so far arrested three suspects who posed as watchers.
Yecyec said the perpetrators would sit in the watchers’ area and wait while the watchers are called inside the facility and then grab their belongings.
The suspects could not get away with the act since this would be captured by the CCTV and they would be held while trying to exit the hospital premises.
The NMMC administration is calling on watchers and patients to be mindful of their belongings. (SVB)
