AUTHORITIES have already identified the suspects who killed an 18-year-old Xavier University (XU) student three days ago, but their names are withheld pending investigation of the case.
Inspector Julius Saluta, Carmen Police Station deputy commander, said operatives are still tracking the locations of the suspects who killed Juan Manuel Mandac, a first year Business Administration student at XU.
Saluta said they would still determine the motive of the killing considering the police is puzzled on the conduct of the murder.
Residents in Taguanao-Balulang road discovered his body on a big stone in the area Wednesday afternoon.
He said the Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) have yet to furnish the police with the result of the autopsy that could identify the cause of the victim’s death.
Mandac was a resident of Buena Oro in Barangay Macasandig, a few kilometers away from where his body was dumped.
Balulang village chief Alfredo Carcosa said two men cutting grasses for cow fodder saw the victim’s body and immediately reported it to police.
Carcosa said no one could identify the victim since he wasn’t resident of Balulang.
Mandac was later identified by his parents while checking his body at a funeral parlor in Bulua.
Police said there could be more than one suspect who killed Mandac.
Saluta assured the family that they would do everything they can to give justice to the death of their son.
