THE Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Cagayan de Oro City (CDO) is set to conduct special satellite registrations, which aim to prioritize women in support of Women's Month this March.
Comelec-CDO said in a statement that they will dedicate two days for women's special registration on Saturday, March 4, at the 4th floor of JR Borja General Hospital and on March 8, at Barangay Macabalan's barangay hall, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For the satellite registration, Comelec-CDO will assign a special lane for women that will guarantee quick processing of their application, especially for those admitted and confined in the city hospital's ward.
"We are also doing this to empower women by encouraging them to be more involved with nation-building and equipping them through their participation on this coming October 23, 2017, the Katipunan ng Kabataan and Barangay elections," Comelec-CDO said.
The Comelec will receive application for registration, transfer, reactivation, correction of entries and change of status.
The requirements include valid identification card (ID) with current residence address for the new registrants and those who wish to transfer their registration.
For voters aged 15 to 19 years old, valid IDs and three copies of birth certificate are required, while only three birth certificates are required for those who wish to correct any of their entries.
For change of status, three copies of the couple's marriage contract are required.
The registration for the Katipunan ng Kabataan and Barangay elections will end this April 29.
