THE Communist Party of the Philippines-North Central Mindanao Region (CPP-NCMR) has issued a statement claiming a 31 percent increase in membership this year.

In its 48th founding anniversary statement, Ka Norsen Mangubat, CPP-NCMR spokesperson, said about 1,040 completed the 'Batakang Kurso sa Partido' (BKP), a mandatory course for those seeking Communist Party membership, while 112 cadres finished the intermediate course.

An increase of about 16 percent was also noted in the number of rebel forces, whom, Mangubat claimed, launched 109 tactical offensives before its declaration of a unilateral ceasefire with the government in August of this year.

The rebels also claimed a 26 percent increase in its mass base.

The rebels also criticized the supposed violations committed by the government in the conduct of its own unilateral ceasefire.

The CPP-NCMR said the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, and other state-sponsored groups continue to violate the declared ceasefire by conducting combat operations and Oplan Bayanihan

According to the CPP, since August 22 until now, at least 22 municipalities in the provinces of Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Misamis Oriental, and Bukidnon, have been infiltrated by the military troops.
