Ex-board member commits suicide

A FORMER Provincial Board Member in Misamis Oriental committed suicide by hanging himself on a papaya tree Monday morning in Villa Ernesto Subdivision, Barangay Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City.
Police identified the victim as Gerardo Abrogar Orcullo, 76. A caretaker found the victim dead at around 6 a.m. Monday inside the garden of his neighbor.
Police initial investigation showed that Orcullo’s relatives have been looking for him since Sunday after his sudden disappearance.
A certain Marcelina dela Peña, caretaker of the property where Orcullo's bofy was found, told police investigators that nobody noticed the victim when he entered the area.
Dela Peña said when they discovered Orcullo hanging on a papaya tree, they immediately informed the police.
PO1 Analiza Pading said based on the investigation of the Agora police, Orcullo’s relatives said he has been suffering from stroke.
Orcullo served as board member of the province of Misamis Oriental from 1987 to 1992. (Annabelle L. Ricalde)
