CAGAYAN de Oro Mayor Constantino Jaraula gave away one bangus (milkfish) to employees of City Hall who were present during the flag raising ceremony Monday.
The City Government bought about 1,000 kilos of propagated bangus from fisherfolk in Tablon in Cagayan de Oro City. It was implemented through the efforts of Representative Rufus Rodriguez, in cooperation with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

Jaraula said the fisherfolk in Tablon found it hard to sell the 1,000 kilos of bangus harvested, so he offered to buy it at P100 per kilo.
“In my own little way, I will be able to help the fisherfolk to buy another fry for the next harvest, which my employees would also benefit,” he said
Meanwhile, City Councilor Ian Acenas along with other city councilors already reserved the fisherfolk’s next harvest. (NJM)
