AS THE campaign election period for national positions formally started Tuesday, local candidates and their supporters and volunteers under the Nacionalista Party (NP) also launched the candidacy of their standard-bearer.
Lawyer Antonio Soriano, chair of the Council of Volunteer of presidential candidate Manny Villar, said the event was a nationwide launching as campaign period officially starts.

The launching was joined by local candidates from Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental under the NP headed by Misamis Oriental second district Rep. Yevgeny “Bambi” Emano.
Emano, who was earlier affiliated with the Lakas-Kampi-CMD party, decided to support Villar’s candidacy.
The NP’s only local candidate in Cagayan de Oro is Erwin Culanag who is running for City Councilor as independent.
Soriano said NP had no local candidates in the city running for higher position, only in Misamis Oriental.
“There’s no definite schedule yet for Sen. Manny Villar to visit Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental,” Soriano told Sun.Star Cagayan.
Villar and his running mate, Senator Loren Legarda, together with their senatorial slate had already begun their election campaign in Laguna. (Annabelle Ricalde)
