Editorial: In her honor

SHE may not be perfect. She may not be the best. But she definitely knows the best for all her children. And that’s our mothers.
Today we are celebrating Mother’s Day. Today we are giving tribute to all the hard work and sacrifices that mothers give to their children, to the point that they even forget to give value to their own happiness just to provide the best for their families.
But sometimes, other people, mostly their husbands, fail to recognize their effort. They forget to acknowledge their worth in the family.
Some husbands even make their wives “punching bags” as a way to release their angst in life. And the martyr wives do nothing but to accept their fate just to make their family intact.
Can we allow this to happen forever?
Of course, the wife has a choice – whether to stay on with her husband and become a punching bag forever or stand up and fight for her right.
But whatever choice she has to make, one thing is certain, today is her day and that she deserves an applause for standing still despite all the odds and the challenges she had encountered in raising her family.
