Our purpose in life-A A +A
Thursday, December 8, 2011
MY WIFE and I thought that by December 8 of this year, we could move over already to our new house at PSB-Ulaliman in El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental, just beside the Divine Mercy Statue.
But there are still some tasks that are uncompleted yet like the garage and the water supply for all of the rooms. So before Christmas when our Lord Jesus was born in a lowly manger in Bethlehem, God will probably consent to our transfer in our house since it is livable already and comfortable enough for my wife and I to be of more service to Him and His creations.
And after her term as president of the Divine Mercy Foundation in 2015, all the projects of the Foundation are accomplished like the life-size stations of the cross, retreat facilities, a house for abandoned mothers as well as the abandoned elderly and the latter would need the handling of the religious order of nuns, who are really committed to serve people of such kind, a Mother Teresa of Calcuta kind.
There are a number of projects that the Foundation has laid out, which aim to help achieve spiritual maturity for those who believe in God as the Divine Mercy. Not just lip service but action and to fulfill God’s command to all who believe n Him must love one’s neighbor as themselves.
Life is definitely uncertain. I never expected that in the remaining years of my life, I will find a meaningful purpose on why I’m here in this planet earth, a driven purpose in life which prepares us for life eternal.
We must always remember that we are but passers-by and whatever good we do, let us do it now for we only pass this world but once, for we will never pass this away again.
We are selling our Bayabas residence which is one thousand square meters. While we have many memorable memories about it having lived there for 31 years, we have to submit to God’s will, His plan for us, so we can fulfill our driven purpose on earth which is to love, serve and glorify and honor Him.
Have you ever asked the question to yourself? What is your purpose in life which drives you close to God not away from Him? Don’t wait for the day that you don’t have anymore the physical capability to fulfill such a purpose.
President Noynoy Aquino, who is only 50 years old, did not want to be a hypocrite to a person whom he denounced as an illegally appointed Chief Justice. That’s why frontally he expressed right before the presence of the Chief Justice why the haste in coming out of decisions that disabled the moves of the Aquino administration to put behind bars former President GMA for the alleged gigantic abuses of the former President and her husband.
To some, the occasion was not the right venue at all thus inappropriate. I don’t agree. I believe it is the best time to hurl those charges.
Chief Justice Corona, who is in his 70s, to his credit politely retorted that it is Christmas time, let us have peace. Will there be a constitutional crisis because of such utterances? To my mind, that will never come for there are still justices in the Supreme Court who have the wisdom to persuade the sympathizers of the Chief Justice that it is foolhardy to fight back.
I’m confident though that with prayers to God, the feared constitutional crisis will simply evaporate and disappear.
Let us trust God always that He will act on the matter for God is love and mercy.
