Of Saints and Gays

PEDRO Calungsod is the second Filipino saint to be canonized on October 21, 2012 in Rome. San Lorenzo Ruiz is the first to be canonized.
Educated and knowledgeable Catholics will have to decide to go to Rome, if they have the means for such a trip. Knowing Catholic Filipinos, they will try to raise funds to join the entourage.
In Cebu where he is believed to be born, surely, many affluent Cebuanos will join the trip for it is widely believed by Catholics that blessings will be received by those who join it.
Viva! soon to be canonized saint, Pedro Calungsod.

For the last three days, my wife and I attended the Trideum Masses at the House of Angels at the Franciscan Chapel in Kauswagan since today is the feast of Saint Francis.
The relic of St. Francis is being displayed at the altar so the followers of the saint can appreciate it.
Despite the constipation afflicting me, I attended the three-day Masses and my difficulty to walk where I have to be held on by two persons almost made me decide not to proceed with my presence. Thanks God I made it.

Monsignor Cris Garcia was sacked by Rome, having been linked to the illegal trade of elephant ivory tusk. Also the molestation of two altar boys 20 years ago but acted by Rome only this year.
Monsignor Cris, if convicted for illegal elephant ivory trade, can go to jail for four years. I know this Cebuano priest personally. He was here in our city for a few religious activities.
As for gay relationships between male priests, I know a number of them having such an illicit relationship. I think the Catholic leadership should do something about this problem. It will continue to beleaguer the church if such a problem is not attended to.
