I AM so proud of our country because of its beauty, natural wonders, green forest, tall mountains, clean rivers and lakes, fresh air, warm climate and its loving and affectionate people.
Our oceans are filled with numerous kinds of fishes and a lot of scented flowers, wild and cultured, bloom everywhere from morning till sundown. Living in the countryside is like paradise that is certainly abundant in dreamland. No matter how you say it, the place is extremely and luxuriously wonderful.
We have so many sources of funds. We derived billions of cash from our logging industry. Our logs are now part of many residential homes in Japan, China Taiwan, and a lot of our neighbors. Our mining industry is giving out huge income to our government and so much of our elements like gold silver, bronze and many more are scattered in many places around the universe.
Nearly everyday we export coconut products everywhere as well as home handicraft that find appreciation in other lands. Our fishing industry too has been exporting fish products many of them displayed in North America, Singapore, Canada and elsewhere.
Then we have fruit products like mangoes, bananas and so many more that attract people from everywhere. I have gone to many countries in the world including some European places like Germany Italy, England, Austria, Netherlands and others and I was surprised to find some fruit products there. Truly it made me so proud and happy to see items from my beloved country being loved by strangers and all sorts of nationalities. It is just wonderful and I thank God for his blessings and the gift of pride showered upon us.
Above all these things, however, are our bad politicians and leaders who are utterly responsible in the destruction of our dreams, aspirations and honor. These thieves in our government system are putting us down as well as the prestige that we have been enjoying for years. Media reports in foreign lands pointed our country as one of the most corrupt establishments on earth. It is just terrible. We are all dishonored. We are all injured severely and getting up to see the sunshine of hope is nearly impossible. It is some of our leaders that put blots on our faces and how we can ever repair the damage done to our culture and existence is something we are lost.
We cannot kill our leaders because we are not savage like those in the yesteryears. We have to do something to be able to reclaim our lost glory and dignity as Filipinos. This is not the kind of place and people when Magellan landed in our shores. We used to be nice people in existence until bad politics engulfed our society. We are like one and united in the mouth of a crocodile ready to be swallowed and forgotten.
I hope something, a major change, would take place. I urge every person rich and poor to help unite and battle the existence of corruption and thievery in our government to end all kinds of hostilities.
