IF THE great warrior, Andres Bonifacio, were alive today, I can see thousands of heads of government workers who are corrupt rolling down to the rivers. The legendary Katipunero fought the Spanish conquistadores who occupied our islands for centuries and who committed various abuses.
He could have used his bolo against some senators and congressmen as well as top government officials. I am sure he will use his bolo to drive away these people who have impoverished the country he loved so much. The bad guys are lucky the great hero is forever gone.
The Philippines is in the hands of corrupt leaders. I am glad though that things come out little by little and we now can pinpoint who are the authors of these shenanigans. Some of them are the ones we elected during elections thinking they are the best candidates only to realize later the ugliness of their aspirations. The effects of corruption are horrible.
A lot of people are unemployed and they are suffering from extreme poverty. Their children are out of school and they grow old adding to the millions of jobless Filipinos. Each day we have an array of hungry and angry people roaming for whatever food they can find.
We have leaders who are not only weak in the mind but dumb as well. They were elected through vote-buying and only help in the worst situation of the country. My blood really boils so much thinking about this disaster happening in our place. Alleviating the suffering of our countrymen is something that truly hurts. Just looking at their pitiful plight makes us really sad, but we too are helpless with that situation. The government must be strong to face these epidemics taking their toll on the lives of our people. It is really horrible and terrible.
Pres. Aquino should clean the government from corruption before he overkills former Pres. Gloria Arroyo. The latter is now in the hands of the court who will take care of her alleged crimes. What the president is doing is fire shots at her every now and then a thing that many Filipinos dislike. Elections are far and let us not discuss the offenses of political disputes and disagreement of issues. What the president should do is to solve the unemployment problem, the lack of food in the countryside, the thieves in the government service and increase agricultural productions to stop once and for all our habit of importing rice. Let us all be united and fight the odd.
The only way to solve all these problems is hard work and right planning. Stop politics for the moment and concentrate with our problems. Let us not divide the Filipinos because that would weaken our economy thus driving us into poverty. Send to jail the corrupt legislators, the lazy and criminals in the system.
We should strengthen our economy, our military, and make the country self-sufficient in food, shelter and health. A strong citizenry will make definitely a strong nation by and large, it will make people happy and contented all the time.
