Emano should be back

IF MAYOR Oscar Moreno and his administration hire consultants to amplify his "Hapsay" projects and governance, why can't the city council majority hire theirs, by none other than former mayor Vicente Emano, the "Padayon" way?

Emano should be back; at least the majority of the city council has the delicadeza to tell to the public that they are institutionalizing their allegiance to their master puppeteer and to make it also official that the majority of the councilors are after all, puppets in the lowest degree.

It would also be unfair to call the majority of the city council as no-brainers, because if they are, they wouldn't be in the city council.

Another is that they have professional degrees, most of them, and even got passed in various professional examinations. In short, they are intelligent - they can even give you an infinite arsenal of alibis or justification to excuses.

The majority of the city council is a brilliant lot, except for one: their souls are eternally being sold and is now owned by Emano, the ever charismatic and political master who is now again back in the business for being a consultant to the city council, along with three other loyalist consultants.
Nobody said Emano is incapable of being a consultant, with his decades of political experience and the way how he runs his old kingdom, truly it is wisdom for his puppets to feed on.

Again, at least the majority of the city council has the delicadeza to tell to the public that "we have officially revealed to the people of Cagayan de Oro that we have no sense of dignity and honor as we are slaves to our ever lord and master by making him as our official consultant," and this is how you read City Ordinance 2014-23.

And the ONE PESO (P1.00) consultant fee. Is this a marketing ploy similar to an airline carrier? That's very much disturbing. It might be true for a P1.00 fee, but who knows how much "surcharges" and "bonuses" are being transmitted at the end of the year.

It's as plain as that, or that's how their actions are being translated into. But what is exactly the purpose of all these? Is it for the benefit of the people? Or are these the antics and selfish acts of the few?

All these things wouldn't be problem if their interest is about people, especially the "masa," and the welfare of the community as a whole, but it turns out the opposite. If they want dictatorships, fine, but rest assured that the people are equally served and the government funds were properly used, but in reality it's not, instead, it's the people who are aggravated the most of their doing and worse, they had no idea.

But on the lighter side of this dark turn of events, we can only hope that the Moreno administration will do it job better and truthful otherwise it will be an instant political attack from the down under
the city council.

This should also be a lesson to Moreno that his moves are being watched, and he should be careful. The majority of the city council who is not in favor of him can immediately throw his chances for a second term seat in 2016, Moreno also had flaws and his political rivals know that. The city council also has flaws and the people should put an end to that.
