“Truly, Allah guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever.” - Qur'an (Az-Zumar) 39:3
ON MONDAY early evening, the President of the Republic of the Philippines made a special speech that was broadcast nationwide to send his message across the Filipino nation in relation to his pet initiative, the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP).
But just like the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or the pork barrel, which President Benigno Simeon Aquino III’s administration tirelessly hunts its political opposition members with its irregularities and corruption loopholes, the Supreme Court (SC) also found some of DAP’s provisions unconstitutional two weeks ago.
Thus, his speech took place weeks before his scheduled State of the Nation Address, creating an atmosphere of retaliation on the SC’s decision in a tone of authoritarian bravado and denial that DAP, like PDAF, can be corrupted just the same under the scrupulous hands.
“May mga nagsasabi rin po na pareho lang ang DAP sa PDAF. Excuse me.
As soon as President Aquino’s speech ended, there are certain things that remain consistent: first, that the President is indeed true to being “Boy Sisi,” who faces and responds to the issues of his administration but not without remembering the previous administrations and pointing that they started all the ruckus and his governance only shared the current burden.
At first during his first months and year sitting in the office, the blame game sounded very “cool” and “badass,” but on the later years the President appeared to have been used to it despite that some of the issues were borne out of his administration’s actions.
Second, that PNoy’s “Tuwid na Daan” is truly functioning for the sake of the people and it is so perfect that it is impossible to be blemished by his cabinet members and underdogs, and that they are doing the right way, however, the opposing forces always get in the way and ruin it.
And third, that the PNoy administration would rather “park” in a “no parking zone” to “save the life of an accident victim,” or at least that was the mystery person was implying when he/she said it to the President in an SMS of which was quoted during latter’s speech.
If the PNoy’s administration is uncomfortable in tagging their explanations through statements and speeches as outright lies, then those might be truths, however these are present in a parallel dimension of our world which we don’t live on but for them, it is the existing reality.
