Oro, Lanao cops lead police awards

THE police offices in Cagayan de Oro City and Lanao del Norte led the awardees on Mondays 19th Philippine National Police Anniversary at Camp Alagar.
Both the Cagayan de Oro City Police (Cocpo) and the Lano del Norte Provincial Police Office bagged the “Model Transformation Program” under the Regional Director’s Streamer Award for 2009.

The City Public Safety Management Company (CPSMC) of Cocpo and Provincial Public Safety Management Company of Misamis Oriental captured the “Model Provincial and City Maneuver Units awards.
They and the other police units received their respective awards from Commission on Elections Northern Mindanao Regional Director Renato Magbutay and Regional Police Director Danilo Empedrad.
Meanwhile, Senior Supt. Noel Armilla, former Cocpo director, was awarded the plaque of recognition for his accomplishments — particularly in the capture of the ranking commander of the New People’s Army Alfredo Mapano, alias Ka Paris in August 2009.
Other awardees were: Chief Insp. Michael John Deloso, station commander of Carmen Police Station as one of the Lead PNP Awardee, and Mark Concepcion who was awarded as Non-Uniformed Personnel of the Year. The other PNP unit awardees were: Oroquieta City Police Station, Misamis Occidental Provincial Police Office as Model Urban Police Station for 2009; Alubijid Municipal Police Station, Misamis Oriental Provincial Police Office as Model Rural Police Station for 2009. Eight local government units (LGUs) in the region also received special awards for helping their local police offices in crime prevention, among them Misamis Occidental, Cagayan de Oro City, Gingoog City, Lopez Jaena in Misamis Occidental, El Salvador City, Opol and Alubijid town in in Misamis Oriental and Barangay Carmen in Cagayan de Oro—the only barangay unit to be awarded in the entire region.
