"But perception of the public is also very important. For the police to become more effective, we need feedback and cooperation of the civilians," said City Police Director Noel Armilla.
For his part, Deputy Police Director Antonio Montalba said to put more teeth in the anti-crime drive, all police stations should comply and present its accomplishments otherwise the station commanders will have a lot of explaining to do for such lapses.
The latest round-the-clock operation resulted to the arrest of three persons caught in the act of preying would-be snatching victims.
They will be charged accordingly after proper background checking of their police records.
"Naa po'y nadakpan sa illegal gambling so if first offense pa lang puwede ra man ma-reprimand kay luoy man pud kasohan diretso," Montalba said.
Last Sunday, some 70 suspected criminals, 60 of them already had standing warrant of arrest, were accosted and committed by the police to Lumbia City Jail.

My suitor is a police
My suitor is a police rookie. He says that when the supervisors have made their rounds, the older officers disappear. Why don't they use biometrics to log in every hour? Business establishments anywhere in the city will be willing to donate and host the placement of biometric bundyclocks.
I would like to point out
I would like to point out other problems within our fine city of CDO. Our traffic is, to coin a phrase, "below standards of our own sensibilities."
We need our local government to make erratic changes of how to enforce existing laws of driving edict. Don't make more laws! Just enforce the ones we have now! Stop taking bribes from lawless offenders of repeated offensive!
Our jeepney drivers are the worst violators of our driving laws and yet nothing is done to correct their flagrant lawless reckless behavior. Instead, our local enforcers take small bribes from them and let them go!
I have seen this numerous times and it's known throughout our fine city that our enforcers can be bought for 50 pesos or intimidated by the rich and powerful who also display vulgar disregard to the very laws that they themselves have helped establish. We have serious problems with our traffic, and it's time our city elected representatives start taking notice or we who voted them in can take notice and vote them out!
Cagayan de Oro is a little
Cagayan de Oro is a little city compared to other cities in Mindanao, but can't our policemen in uniform be noticed on the streets? are they hiding or playing? is this what people's tax money get in return? I think we need a new set of officers or policemen that can protect the people before it's too late.
This is an example of the
This is an example of the ningas cogon attitude of the Cagayan de Oro police Department. They only do this so called "saturation drive" when they get embarrassed by incidents like the death of a visiting police officer who was stabbed to death while chasing a thief who snatched his wife's purse.
After this issue settles down, you would not even see police officers visible in the streets. We have to wait again for another incident that would either embarrass the local police or get the attention of the local government for another saturation drive to be launched.
