THE "fast and furious" Hummer team lived up to its top-seed billing, overpowering Ferrari, 62-47 on Wednesday night to advance in the championship round of the Auto Planet basketball tourney at Liceo de Cagayan University gym.

Galant, however, saw a heavily-depleted roster in second-seed Audi which motivated them to go for a kill, 101-69 and forced a deciding Game 2 in the other half of the crossover matches.

Marian Hanginan, designated event coordinator of club owner Mel Heruela, said the winner between Galant and Audi on Saturday's knockout match will face Hummer in a best-of-3 championship showdown starting Monday.
