PICTURING America exhibit is a collection of high-quality reproductions of American artistic masterpieces and heritage-paintings, sculpture, architecture, fine crafts, and photography. The collection is intended to offer unique insights into the character, ideals, and aspirations and provide deeper appreciation of the U.S. history. It is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities in cooperation with the American Library Association.

The exhibit surveys a variety of subjects and styles from Anasazi pots (c. 1100) to modern architecture and from eighteenth-century portraits to contemporary sculpture.

"Picturing America tells the story of the United States through forty of its masterpieces," says NEH Chairman Bruce Cole. "We are using great art to tell the story of our nation from colonial times to the twentieth century."

The Picturing America Exhibit will be opened to the public on July 25, Saturday from 10am to 9pm. The venue for the exhibit will be between Guess and Pizza Hut, Ground Floor of SM City Cagayan de Oro. (PR)
